I am here to help! With appropriate tutoring, guessing stops and success begins.
Explicit instruction helps students understand the different sounds, or phonemes, a letter symbol can make and when and why that happens. This is crucial for them to build decoding and encoding skills to read and spell effectively.
Multi-sensory techniques (many senses) help students obtain concrete techniques and clues for abstract ideas, which helps them stick.

Contact me via the Google Form with your interest and your child's needs. We can then schedule an in-person, online or phone consultation to speak further.
After the assessment, we will meet again to discuss the results and their individual plan for reading success.

I will conduct a reading assessment with your child. This one hour, one-on-one assessment will help me understand their:
- Letter knowledge
- Sound-Letter Relationships
- Phonemic Awareness: their ability to recognize initial, medial, and final phonemes in words
- Sight Word Recognition
- Decoding: measures the student’s ability to read nonsense words

Through the assessment, I am able to identify individual strengths and areas that need improvement, enabling me to tailor instruction to begin at their most pressing need and move along a pathway to their reading success!

- Sequential As new information is introduced, it is presented in a specific order, building on previous knowledge.
- Multi-sensory Lessons engage more than one sense at a time, to make better connections with the concept being taught.
- Cumulative This layering effect progression begins with the most basic skills and ends with complicated, multi-syllabic words, providing my students with word attack skills needed to read most words!

With over 13 years of experience in education, I have a deep understanding of how to effectively teach reading and help students overcome any academic challenges they may be encountering.
